Document Management

The Jahia Platform integrates and supports a full compliant WEBDAV Document repository.

Jahia integrates a fully-fledged file server built on the WebDAV Document repository.Each user or group own its own public or private folder, allowing for collaboration through secured authentication. Files can be copied and pasted for the user’s computer or saved from MS Office - for example- on the Jahia server. The Jahia web project checks for the integrity of rights between these files and the web pages they have been placed on.

Files can be managed through any Webdav client or through the Jahia web file management system, entirely made in Ajax for version 5.  This interface allows for a Folder tree navigations or a Windows-like interface including thumbnail generation for easy picture selection. The content contributor also has access to a precise list of where his files are used. Document views wizard is also provided for front office rendering.

Jahia Webdav Access

The Jahia Document Management System is optionnaly delivered with a windows client: the Jahia Drive. It allows you to mount your Jahia repository as any other shared network drive. Any Windows application can then access Jahia WebDAV based ressources as it they were based on your local hard drive. As it integrates into the standard Windows File Manager, users have no learining curve in order to manage, upload, move or copy their files. 

Automatic Thumbnail Creation

Jahia integrated image utility can automatically create image thumbnails on the fly. A "Image View" mode is available to authors in order to rapidly select an image. An API is also available for template developers in order to automatically generate a thumbnail with a certain size and width on a given template. 

Just drag'n drop your files

Editors can easily create a dynamic box on a page liniking towards some WebDAV ressources. Then nothing more easy than creating a project repository on a Jahia page: you just need to drag and drop files in you WebDAV repository and they appear on your page! 

Automatic users and groups space

Jahia dynamically creates a space for each user or group with a public and private directory. This allows every contributor to easily share files with its workgroups or with other individuals.

Index and search for files

Jahia Document Management System is compliant with the DASL standard. It allows you to make advanced searches in your repository of files. Jahia indexes automatically all Office and PDF files with all other texts or html ressources.
